Who are we and why are we doing this? That is what most people who come to this site will ask, and rightly so, so here is the answer.

We are the two halves of Sky Developments… you might have heard about us, we built Northern Ireland’s first carbon zero home and launched it at the end of 2008. Building energy efficient, low carbon housing is the day job, but your not on here about that, you want to know what these Wrong Way Round antics are about…

…well here goes. We share a passion. We are evangelical about all things green when it comes to the future of housing and are very passionate about our business, but our real passion, the thing that we do when we have time away from the day job, is riding bikes.

We have both had this passion for all things two wheeled and engine driven from and from an early age and we both spent, or should I say misspent, a good proportion of our formative years living out dreams of hitting the road with nothing but a full tank of fuel and a far away destination.

This said, as so many have commented before me, no man is an island and as our families grew and the commitments of work and our home lives increased bikes took a back seat in both our lives…

So who's the wise guy?

…Until a few years ago, when we were chatting one day and decided hey! Lets get back in the saddle.

To say that since that moment we have revived our love of the open road is somewhat of an understatement. The only thing that keeps us off the bikes now is the weather and we’ve become pretty used to the sideways glances of bankers & solicitors when we arrive for meetings skid lid under arm rather than briefcase. Lots of people think we’re barking mad and maybe we are but you know what they say, ‘it’s not a dress rehearsal!’

So that us, and thats why we are doing what we’re doing. We have been fortunate enough to be able to revisit a love from past and want to harness some of the new found enthusiasm we have for bikes and the open road and use that to try and help some people who are a lot less fortunate that any of us.
